The goal to set up checkpoints on roads according to law in Thailand is for checking, searching or catching people who break laws within 24 hours. So, if you did not break any rules, there is no need to be afraid.

Most of the reasons that police set up checkpoints are to catch people who break the law such as delivering drugs, being drunk while driving or delivering some illegal stuff or people, etc. They may get some information about suspected cars and let your car pass without any checking as your car doesn’t look like suspected cars to them. So, you can just drive past the checking points if they don’t ask to check your car.
